Podcasting on Youtube Dead?

Let’s talk YouTube and podcasts…

If you’re starting an interview podcast to grow on YouTube in 2025, you’re already behind.

Here’s the truth most creators won’t say out loud:

Interview podcasts don’t build audiences anymore.

They build trust.
They build relationships.
They’re amazing offline.

But they don’t drive views, subs, or retention on YouTube unless you’re already famous.

Yes, there are unicorns and outliers.
But in 2025, that’s not the norm.

Why? (por que?)

Because people don’t click interviews unless they know the guest or the topic solves a burning problem they have.

Zoom fatigue is real. Your content looks like the meetings they already suffer through daily. You’re dragging them back into the world they’re trying to escape.

And no one cares about “great conversations” without a clear outcome or transformation.

Podcasts are great for B2B, partnerships, and positioning.
They’re powerful business development tools and i’ve seen them explode profiles and businesses.
But if you’re using interviews as your primary growth engine on the platform, you're playing the wrong game.

So what does work?

Solo content.

Here’s why:

  • Clarity: You control the message. No filler. No fluff.

  • Authority: You become the teacher, the guide, not the guy or gal riding someone else’s credibility.

  • Speed: You can hit trending topics and pain points fast without waiting on someone else’s schedule.

  • Retention: You can script, pace, and design your content to hold attention. Most interviews can’t do that.

  • Positioning: You define the narrative. You show what you believe, how you think, and what you stand for.

Solo content lets your audience know why they should follow you.
It solves their problem directly. It gives them a reason to come back.

Once that’s working, then you can layer in interviews as depth, not discovery.

Use guests to support your point of view.
Teach through their stories.
Make them part of your system, not your strategy.

Interviews are the dessert. Solo content is the main course.

Want to grow?

  • Speak directly to your audience.

  • Pick a pain point.

  • Tell a story.

  • Solve it fast.

Every channel needs to solve a problem. What’s yours?

Then bring in guests who reinforce the belief system you’ve already built.

Podcasts are a performance enhancment drug to someone already putting in the reps.

But if you think interviews will build you a fanbase, you’re delusional.
