YouTube is having issues

you're not imagining it. Blame Trump

Right, if YouTube’s been driving you mad this month, let me save you some sanity.

You're not imagining it. It’s broken.
Pages timing out, "Something went wrong" errors everywhere, analytics refusing to load, uploads defaulting to draft, It's a mess and i’ve been working with creators the past 2 weeks navigating it.

Two things are happening at once.

i) Google has been battling technical issues on their end throughout March. Nothing new there. As more people come on platform and huge backend changes, things break. Welcome to tech!

ii) Thanks to the war, several undersea data cables in the Middle East have been damaged. Those cables carry a massive chunk of global web traffic, so anything data-heavy (like your Studio analytics) is getting hammered with lag and timeouts.

Here's what actually works right now.

How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

The DTC beauty category is crowded. To break through, Jennifer Aniston’s brand LolaVie, worked with Roku Ads Manager to easily set up, test, and optimize CTV ad creatives. The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.

Ditch the desktop and open the YouTube Studio mobile app instead.

The app pulls data differently. It's lighter, faster, and right now it's far more reliable than the full desktop site. Most creators are finding they can still:

  • Check how their latest video is performing

  • Reply to comments

  • Make quick title or thumbnail changes

Also, if you’ve uploaded a video on desktop that’s timing out, it will usually save in draft. Just open the studio app and schedule from there.

It won't solve everything, but it keeps your channel moving while Google sorts their end out and the internet traffic gets rerouted around the cable damage. Didn’t think the war effected you?! haha.

I'll update you if anything shifts but for now, use the app and stop refreshing that broken dashboard.

Me

A familiar sight. Timing out and just not moving.
